Wow... and here we thought all the political relationship commess was in Turks and Caicos and Guyana.

Turns out it ent done - Barbados has gotten in on the act too!

It's not quite as spicy because unlike TCI and GT, it does not involve the head of the country, just an Opposition senator and his estranged wife, but...! He was a Government Minister in the last administration and the details that have come out thus far are pretty damn spicy.

Apparently, Kerrie Symmonds, who used to be the Minister of State within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade when his party was in power in Barbados, is taking out his anger with his estranged wife on her car.

According to the Barbados Nation, he is supposed to appear in court today for allegedly slashing his wife's Toyota Prado last week and allegedly assaulting her back in June.

This was all laid out as his wife took out a protection order against him.

From the Nation:

Symmonds, of Wilcox House, Christ Church, is scheduled to go before the District "A" Magistrates Court in connection with two incidents. On June 13, 2009, he allegedly assaulted his estranged wife Andrea Symmonds, of Rock Hall, St Thomas.

Last week Thursday he is alleged to have used a spare key to enter her Toyota Prado and slash the car seats.

Of course, it is one thing for politicos to do wrong t'ings to their partners in private - we have all heard of the various scandals of politicians and their partners all up and down this island chain.

It is another thing when it leaks out in public and Symmonds promptly resigned from his post as Opposition Senator.

Opposition Leader Mia Mottley said in a statement:

"Earlier today, I received a request from Senator Kerrie Symmonds, who is out of the country, to be relieved of his Senate appointment with immediate effect, citing personal reasons."

Of course, Prime Minister David Thompson could not resist getting a dig in, since Symmonds actually used to run with his side but skipped out on the DLP to join the party in power in the late 90s. He said to reporters yesterday:

"I once thought that Kerrie Symmonds was a rising political star.

He even did his in-service [training] with me and I thought I had imparted [some knowledge and advice]. (But) look at what has happened today . . . . "I wish him all the very best and God's blessings. That's all I can do, truthfully."

Ouch. He has a point, though. Symmonds is a smart guy that had been seen as a rising star, both with the Dees and the Bees and it is kind of surprising that he let things get to this point. I mean... damn man! Scratching up the car? What the hell is this... Waiting to Exhale?

Chris Brown in court

Chris Brown entered court in LA a short while ago, along with lawyer Mark Geragos. Apparently he did not enter a plea and requested a continuance until April 6th, which was granted. The judge admonished Brown in open court, saying: "You are not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone."

The judge also asked if a 'no-contact order' in place, to which Geragos replied: "Miss Fenty does not request such an order".

Hm. No surprise when you see the sordid story in the post below...

Also not surprising is word that a major plea deal is still in the works, which would save Brown from prison time. Apparently he and his people are anxious to avoid a trial as the pictures the LAPD have from  the day after the attack are even more graphic than the ones that leaked two weeks ago and they don't want the public to see those.

I have a feeling the public will see those pics eventually though - the way the LAPD has been leaking like a worn faucet.

Rihanna and Chris Brown married?!

Clearly Rihanna and Chris Brown are determined to take this soap opera from bad to worst.

No, that wasn't a typo cos they done skipped  through worse and went straight to the WORST thing they could have done - bonafide Bobby and Whitney mess.

Yes, they're married.

The reports are now starting to leak out in the press, with Star magazine leading with it on their cover, blaring 'Secret Wedding!'

We hoped against hope it wasn't true but our usually reliable sources in Barbados are saying it is unfortunately oh so true and their state broadcaster, CBC just carried it a short while ago during their evening news broadcast.

Apparently the love-struck (excuse the gruesome pun) duo married impetuously last weekend during their reconciliation at Diddy's villa in Miami. According to the Star Chris "literally fell to his knees,"  apologising profusely and tearfully when he and Rihanna first reunited.

An insider says, "He tenderly wiped [her tears] away and kissed her face, which was still slightly bruised. He just kept whispering, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.'" Another source says he told her she was his "queen" and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. The mag writes: "She saw remorse in his eyes and accepted his apology and proposal on the spot."


We... have no words.

In an ironic (tragic?) contrast, the other Chrihanna-related news of the day (besides his imminent arrival in court to face two charges of criminal threats and battery), the detectives notes from the night of the assault have leaked and they do not make pretty reading.

According to the notes, Rihanna read a three-page text message on Brown's phone from a woman. An argument ensued and Brown allegedly tried forcing Rihanna out of the car but couldn't because she was wearing her seat belt.

Brown then allegedly shoved Rihanna's head against the passenger window. When Rihanna turned to face him, Brown punched her, then continued punching her while driving, according to the detective's notes.

Blood spattered all over Rihanna's clothing and in the interior of the car. Her mouth was filled with blood.

Brown allegedly told Rihanna, "I'm going to beat the shit out of you when we get home. You wait and see."

Rihanna called her assistant and left a message saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there."

Brown then replied, "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you."

According to the report, Brown continued to punch Rihanna, bit her on her ear, her fingers and put her in a headlock -- she almost lost consciousness.

Charming. Apparently she told detectives that this was not the first time he had hit her either and that the attacks had gotten more violent each time.

The entire report is here and it is chilling to read what she went through. Then to read that afterwards, Chris had the nerve to call up her best friend Melissa as if nothing had happened!

And then she married him? I would like to ask somebody to please save this girl from herself but our sources have said that her management, particularly those who guided her to stardom and through her first years in the United States have 'washed their hands of her' as she is no longer the young girl they knew and is out of their control.

Sigh. A 19 year old and a 21 year old getting married would not be a good idea anyhow. Coupled with abuse, infidelity and obvious loneliness, particularly on Rihanna's part being so far away from her family, this is just a disaster. But... technically according to the law, they are adults, terrifying as that is. And they can do what they want - including ruining their careers.

That is the part that is really aggravating to me - Rihanna is ruining her career behind this boy. And it is not like she is a Whitney Houston type that had nuff nuff money and goodwill to blow through. Whitney held the record for the biggest debut album of all time for years on end - people don't sell records like that no more though - not in the post-napster, cd-burning, file-sharing 21st century.

And (again according to our reliable B'dos sources) Rihanna is not exactly the brightest bulb, despite attending one of the island's harder-to-get-into schools, Combermere. Apparently she stopped down at least once when she was there and may not have enough CXCs to count on one hand. So singing was really it for her.
